The 8 Best Hotels in Umm Al Quwain for a Weekend Away!
Umm Al Quwain is one of my personal favorite UAE destinations for a weekend away. While it doesn’t always get as much love as nearby Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah, I love that Umm Al Quwain remains a bit more under-the-radar compared to the UAE’s most famous emirates.
What Umm Al Quwain lacks in skyscrapers, mega-resorts, and hip beach clubs, it makes up for with pristine white sand beaches, flamingo-filled mangroves, and a laid-back vibe. So if you’re looking for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city, a relaxing trip to Umm Al Quwain may just be the perfect reprieve.
While this emirate is still up-and-coming, new Umm Al Quwain hotels are popping up every year. There aren’t a ton of accommodation options to choose from in the city center, but stick to my list of the 8 best hotels in Umm Al Quwain, and you’ll find something that’s perfect for you!

The 8 Best Hotels in Umm Al Quwain
1. Vida Beach Resort Umm Al Quwain
In my opinion, Vida is one of the best hotels in Umm Al Quwain, if not the very best, if you’re craving a boutique resort-style experience. This is where I stay whenever I visit Umm Al Quwain because it has everything I could possibly need right on-site, meaning you don’t have to actually leave the hotel if you don’t want to!
You can spend your vacation lounging around the spectacular infinity pool, going for a swim at the private beach, doing all manner of water sports, getting massages at the spa, catching up with emails in the co-working spaces, and working up a sweat in the 24-hour gym. You’ll also find two all-day restaurants on-site, as well as a lively pool bar and a rooftop bar and restaurant offering prime ocean and sunset views.
And then there are the modern rooms, which all boast the comfiest of beds, large smart TVs, workstations, refillable water bottles, and Grown Alchemist bath amenities. You can bring your furry friend along, too, because this hotel is very pet-friendly!
2. Casa MIKOKO Resort
If you’re looking for the most unique Umm Al Quwain hotels, you have to check out Casa MIKOKO. You’ll find this gem hidden away down a long dirt road, surrounded by natural mangroves right on Mangrove Beach.
There are only five rustic-chic chalets at this eco-friendly boutique resort, each perched right over Mangrove Beach. Some offer private patios with pools, while others offer private terraces with standalone soaking tubs. Or, if you’re traveling as a group, there is one two-bedroom chalet with a living room and a huge deck and pool.
If you can manage to tear yourself from your luxury chalet, you can embark on kayaking or SUP tours of the mangroves, cruise around on pedal boats or water bikes, try your hand at kitesurfing, take a trip on the resort’s traditional African boat, or have a yoga or meditation session at the on-site Asili Yoga Center.
Casa MIKOKO is also home to one of the best restaurants and cafes in Umm Al Quwain. Like the chalets, the setting of this eco-friendly tree-house-inspired eatery is absolutely magical. It’s a great place for sunset sips and evening meals!
3. Siniya Island Leisure Campground
When it comes to the best hotels in Umm Al Quwain for a glamping experience, you can’t go wrong with Siniya Island Leisure Campground. Far more than a basic campground, this place is set on Siniya Island, a 90-square-kilometer nature reserve that’s teeming with deer, birds (including Socotra cormorants and flamingos), and other aquatic and wildlife species.
You know this place is special because you’ll have to take a quick speedboat ride before hopping in a 4×4 to reach the campsite, which is right on the water. There are only eight luxury domes at Siniya Island Leisure Campground, each outfitted with plush beds, seating areas, bathrobes, complimentary toiletries, and panoramic nature views.
From the campground, you can embark on kayaking excursions, splash around at the beach, go bird-watching, go on fishing trips, and so much more!
4. Umm Al Quwain Beach Hotel
When it comes to hotels in Umm Al Quwain that put you right on the beach, Umm Al Quwain Beach Hotel has got you covered. As the name implies, this boutique resort is set right on Umm Al Quwain Beach, meaning the sandy shore is just steps from your guest room.
Speaking of guest rooms, you’ll find a wide variety of options here, from standard rooms to spacious, family-friendly suites. But for a touch of boho-chic style, I recommend upgrading to one of the “Boho” Suites.
Either way you go, you’ll get plenty of freebies at Umm Al Quwain Beach Hotel from a buffet breakfast in the mornings to parking, Wi-Fi, and use of the kayaks and SUP boards. There’s also a lovely pool area, the Lumi Pool & Beach Bar, Lebanese Cuisine Restaurant, and the Lighthouse bottle shop right on-site.
5. Palma Beach Resort & Spa
If you’re searching for amenity-packed family-friendly hotels in Umm Al Quwain, Palma Beach Resort & Spa might just be the perfect pick. You’ll have absolutely everything you need right on-site, so there’s no need to even leave the resort if you don’t want to.
You can spend your days playing around at the private beach, lounging around the multiple pools, getting pampered at the spa, playing games at the bowling center, shooting hoops at the basketball court, doing all sorts of watersports, dining at the floating restaurant, keeping up with your routine in the fitness center – the amenities are endless!
And then there are the sophisticated rooms, which boast comfy beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, smart TVs, fully-stocked minibars, and complimentary toiletries. Plus, if you’re traveling as a family, there’s also the option to book one of the multi-bedroom villas, which offer plenty of space and privacy for larger groups.

Pearl Hotel & Spa is a great choice if you’re looking for budget-friendly hotels in Umm Al Quwain. Room types range from studio chalets to one-bedroom suites, each outfitted with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Explore the palm tree-studded property and you’ll find multiple pools, a private stretch of beach, a spa offering a long list of treatments, and a fully outfitted gym.
Whenever you’re feeling peckish, you’ll have plenty of options right on-site. Think Filipino fare at Barako Grill, German eats at Little Bavaria, cold brews at Beachgarden Bar, and Kerala cuisine at Backwaters.

Barracuda Resort is another one of the best hotels in Umm Al Quwain if you’re looking for a hotel that’s right on the water.

If you’re looking for Umm Al Quwain hotels that put you right on the sandy shores, Flamingo Beach Hotel is another solid, budget-friendly pick. This is a fun option if you want to spend your days going on fishing or crab hunting excursions, snorkeling trips, or flamingo-watching safaris.
But if you just want to relax at the resort, that’s OK too. On-site you’ll find a sandy stretch of beach, a huge swimming pool, a kid’s pool with a waterslide, BBQ stations, lawn games, and so much more family-friendly entertainment.
